Comfort Heritage Foundation

Hygieostatic Bat Roost

In the early 1900s, an anti-malaria campaign led the construction of this Hygieostatic Bat Roost. It remains as a fascinating historical marker visible from the highway. The bat roost is located about a mile and four-tenths east of Comfort along FM 473, approximately four hundred feet south of the highway.

James Kiehl Riverbend Park

25 acres of park, accompanying the Guadaloupe River. Featuring grassland, woodland, a picnic grove, and many opportunities for wading, fishing, and swimming. 118 River Bend Road, Comfort, TX 78013.

Old Tunnel State Park
