MIXHAUS GALLERY is an art and gathering space in Comfort, Texas—where art connects, and gatherings are crafted with intention. 

As a contemporary art gallery, we focus on mixed media and cross-discipline artists, and we celebrate the story behind the artist’s process. Our space is available to rent for intimate meetings, retreats and events whose purpose is authentic connection, creative transformation and collaboration.

MIXHAUS GALLERY collaborates with Hotel Giles to provide art in the public areas of the hotel (Lobby, Breakfast Room, Parlor) and some rooms.  Most of the art is available for sale, please inquire if you are interested.

Comfort Public Library

It is the mission of the Comfort Public Library to provide a broad range of Library services of the highest quality to all citizens, in the most efficient and effective manner possible. The Library will meet the informational, educational, recreational, cultural, historical and intellectual needs of its patrons.  Housed in a limestone building that was constructed in 1916 and was designated a Texas Historic Landmark in 1981.  701 High Street, Comfort, TX 78013

The Backyard

Hygieostatic Bat Roost

In the early 1900s, an anti-malaria campaign led the construction of this Hygieostatic Bat Roost. It remains as a fascinating historical marker visible from the highway. The bat roost is located about a mile and four-tenths east of Comfort along FM 473, approximately four hundred feet south of the highway.

James Kiehl Riverbend Park

Old Tunnel State Park
