Three cheers for the red, white and blue! We like to do things big here in Texas – and that includes our Fourth of July celebrations. We go all out to mark our nation's Independence Day, from a grand parade to a barbecue picnic to live music and more. Want to see the "bombs bursting in air" this Independence Day? We've got that, too!
Independence Day festivities here in Comfort reflect our rich heritage and our quaint, close-knit community. The day starts at 10 a.m. July 4, with the parade that winds throughout the historic city center. We may be partial, but we think the fanciful and fabulous floats, marching bands, and patriotic participants make ours the best hometown parade ever!
The parade ends at Comfort Park, where the celebration continues. Enjoy a delicious Texas-style barbecue dinner by Food for the Soul Bistro, with brisket and sausage, beans, potato salad, and all the fixins'. There will be outdoor games, arts and crafts vendors, live music, and an apple pie contest. From 3-5 p.m., the second annual Comfort's Got Talent Competition will showcase some talented performers. Stop by the patio at High and 7th to see if the contestants have what it takes to shine! When you're done at the park, stop in at some of Comfort's unique shops and top-notch eateries, which will be offering some great holiday specials.
To cap off your holiday celebration with a bang, head to nearby Boerne for a spectacular fireworks show at City Park. Bring a chair or blanket and watch the amazing colors explode against the night sky starting around 9:15 p.m. Free parking will be available at City Park and Champion High School.
